Something Smells Fishy

Mrs. Thurman's first grade class went outside to do our fish project.  We didn't want our class to smell bad. 

We were thankful for the wonderful weather!

We first identified the 7 fish parts we had studied.  The children thought the gills were very interesting!  They looked different than the photos in the books!  The children were also amazed at how small an individual scale was!  It reminded us of the book The Rainbow Fish, by Marcus Pfister. 

After we had inspected the fish, we painted him up and did our fish prints!  We added a hint of glitter for a shimmering scale effect.  They dried in the sun!
